Ritholtz Wealth Management CEO Josh Brown had good things to say about JPMorgan and Citigroup following the financial institutions’ earnings reports on Tuesday. Brown joined CNBC’s “Halftime Report” to discuss the two banks after both beat Wall Street estimates. Here’s what he had to say about each name: Citi While Brown said he doesn’t own Citigroup, he did acknowledge that the stock looks “outstanding” from a technical perspective. Brown pointed out that the company said it expects $84 billion in revenue for the full year, which was at the high end of its guidance. Shares rallied more than 4% in Tuesday’s session, bringing its year-to-date gain close to 30%. C 1D mountain Citi, 1-day “If you know the history, Citi is not a company that has had any right, historically, to give guidance at the high end,” Brown said. “I like that confidence.” Brown said the company has done a lot of the right things in recent years. “Now, you’re starting to get credit for it as an investor.” JPMorgan Brown called JPMorgan a stock he has no intention of giving up. He said he isn’t concerned if it underperforms Citi in the near future. “It’s a forever position for me,” Brown said. Despite exceeding analyst expectations, shares fell around 0.8% in afternoon trading.
