Tech investor Ray Wang — who owns all “Magnificent Seven” stocks — laid out his rankings of favored tech plays on Monday. The founder of Constellation Research views Nvidia as the top megacap to own given its ongoing spending on the early-stage artificial intelligence buildout as companies ramp up spending on its chips to get ahead of competitors. “We’re just at the beginning of the AI build out, and one of the big places to see where that buildout is happening is really in the Nvidia earnings,” he told CNBC’s ” Squawk Box ” on Monday. Wang equated the AI expansion to Amazon ‘s early e-commerce buildout. He noted that the decentralization of the internet era created opportunities for multiple winners, which may not be the case with AI. Amazon is Wang’s second-favorite Magnificent Seven pick, followed by pure-play AI beneficiaries Microsoft and Alphabet . Apple’s goods and services position it as his next favorite. He called Tesla a “wild card,” adding that Elon Musk’s robot plans may trump the robotaxi. Meta Platforms is at the bottom of Wang’s list. He believes it may take time for the social media giant’s large language models and open source initiatives to gain steam. Wang also expects the company — along with Alphabet — to benefit from the political advertising season underway. Here’s how each Magnificent Seven member is doing year to date: Nvidia: up 182% Amazon: up 22.8% Microsoft: up 10% Alphabet: up 17% Apple: up 22% Tesla: Down 12.4% Meta Platforms: up 61%
