Here’s what CNBC TV’s producers were watching on Wednesday and what’s on the radar for Thursday’s session. Jobless claims The number is due out at 8:30 a.m. ET live on “Squawk Box.” Get the number and full reaction from Becky Quick, Joe Kernen and Andrew Ross Sorkin. The consensus number is 220,000. Loonies, toonies and the Canadian banks, eh Three big banks from the “True North … Strong and Free!” report Thursday before the bell. On the list, the Bank of Montreal . (Go Habs go!) Shares are up 3% in three month, putting the stock less than 4% from its Sept. 29 high. Canadian Imperial Bank reports as well. The stock is up 11% since last reporting three months ago. Shares hit a fresh 52-week high on Wednesday, but ended the day down less than 1%. Toronto-Dominion Bank reports in the morning, making it a hat trick of Canadian bank reports. Shares are up 13% in three months. The stock also hit a new high Wednesday, and finished the day down 0.2%. The airlines The S & P Airlines Industry is having a big week. The index is up 5.13% in three days. United Airlines is up 6% in three days. The stock is 6.5% from its January high. Delta Air Lines is up 5% in three days. The stock is 3.6% from its January high. Southwest is up almost 3% in three days. Shares are 6% from the July high. JetBlue is up 2% so far this week. It is not in the S & P Airlines industry index. Shares are 43% from the January high. American Airlines isn’t in it either, but the stock is up about 4% in three days. Shares are 24% from the January high. Utilities The S & P sector is down 3.4% so far this week. It is 6% from its October high. The utilities sector is up 15% so far in 2025. The chips Another up day for the SMH and SOXX ETFs. The VanEck Semiconductor ETF (SMH) is now up 4.8% in a week. The iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) is up 6.2% in a week. Microchip Technology , Intel and NXP are leading the way. All up about 20% in a week. Only two big chip stocks are down over the last week: Nvidia and Broadcom . Ulta Beauty reeports after the bell Ulta Beauty stock is up 2.5% in three months since last reporting. Shares are less than 5% from the early October high. ULTA YTD mountain Ulta Beauty shares year to date SentinelOne reports after the bell The cybersecurity company releases numbers on “Closing Bell: Overtime” with Morgan Brennan and Jon Fortt. SentinelOne stock is down almost 6% since last reporting. Shares are down 38% over the past year. Shares are up 5%, however, in two days. ChargePoint reports after the bell The company that was setting up EV charging station across the USA is down 23% since last reporting three months ago. ChargePoint stock is 64% lower than it was a year ago. CHPT 6M mountain ChargePoint shares over the past six months.
