Post-Fed movers and shakers Stocks jumped after a divided Federal Reserve cut a quarter-point cut and signaled little appetite for further easing . The Russell 2000 notched a new intraday high, while the Dow and S & P 500 sit less than 1% from their records. Industrials and materials led the way. Utilities ticked lower. SPDR Tech Info ETF (XLK) notched a 13th straight positive day — matching Feb. 2017’s record streak. Silver hit an all-time high as gold moved higher. President Donald Trump said the Fed’s rate cut should have been twice as big . Venezuela in focus Trump announced that U.S. forces seized a large oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela. Oil prices moved higher on the news. Trump has stepped up pressure on Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro, saying his “days are numbered.” Most of Venezuela’s oil exports go to China. Oracle slides on revenue miss Oracle shares slipped 11% after hours following a quarterly revenue miss . Shares have stumbled lately — heading for its worst quarter since 2002. That said, Oracle is on pace for its third straight positive year — up more than 170% over that 3-year stretch. ORCL 6M mountain Oracle shares over the past six months. Broadcom’s broad gains Broadcom is scheduled to report earnings after the bell Thursday. Shares hit a 52-week high on Wednesday. Among the chip stocks, only Micron has outperformed Broadcom over the past 12 months. Shares of the chipmaker have skyrocketed over the past three years — surging about 658%. Costco at a crossroads? Investors will keep a close eye on Costco’s quarterly results on Thursday. Shares are on track to end the year lower for the first time since 2022. Lululemon gets stretched Lululemon will also report earnings after the bell on Thursday. The stock has been doing its own downward-dog — pacing for its worst annual performance since 2008. Shares have erased more than 60% of their value over the past two years. Carvana in nirvana Carvana hit another all-time high.
